My best friend and I had a great conversation about his excitement for my new venture, The Art of Hosting, which led us to talk about why I was potentially going to end another venture called What’s In Season. What’s In Season was an idea I had last spring that was born to help showcase produce in season and share some of my favorite recipes around it. I was stressing about the fact that I thought the idea was too niche and unattainable to the everyday audience. He reminded me that I haven’t given What’s In Season a fair chance.
When he said that, I thought, why don’t I bring it to Substack in addition to IG before giving up on it? So here we are.

What’s In Season will be filled with informative information on how to cook items that are in season with an emphasis on supporting your local farmers to purchase these items. As a hostess there is no greater joy, for me at least, in going to my local farmers market and letting my senses guide me towards what I should make, talking to the farmers to learn of all of their favorite ways to cook what’s in season and then head home to put my own spin on it for my guest.
I’ll be sharing all of my favorite winter produce + recipes that I enjoy soon so that you can incorporate them into you holiday menus.
