Notes on the Season

Notes from the Season is Venita's space for slowing down and sharing what the moment calls for, and reflecting on the season of life - recipes, hosting inspiration, life updates, and the little details that make everyday life feel beautiful.

If you want to throw a bow-themed holiday party this year, I can’t say I’m surprised 😉

I’ve taken on the task of sourcing the best bow-related items from tablecloths to butter molds, so you don’t have to.
One of my favorite tricks is taking ribbons and creating bows to add to anything if you aren’t in a shopping mood. Use the ribbon around your napkins, on the bottom of your stemmed glassware, or around tapered candles!

  1. Appetizer Plates—Finding themed dinner plates this close to the holidays may be difficult. I recommend using a solid holiday-themed dinner plate that you already have as your appetizer plate and this appetizer plate as your salad plate.
  2. $20 Tablecloth – This tablecloth gets the point across without being too loud. It could be great to use again during Valentine’s Day!
  3. Cocktail Napkins – These cocktail napkins by Stephanie, aka Chefanie, would make the perfect addition to your napkin collection. Plus, you’ll be supporting a small business!
  4. Dinner Napkins – Buy them now or for next year if you want to get them monogrammed for a more personalized touch.
  5. Chic Coupes – These are a bit of a splurge, but they are worth it in my eyes due to their uniqueness.
  6. Placecards – Meri Meri might be my new favorite place to shop for tablescapes. I had to resist adding everything from their site to this round-up. Maybe I’ll do a Meri Meri round-up next!
  7. Napkin Rings—These napkin rings also come in black and red. They are great shades that could be used throughout the year for other occasions.
  8. Bow Apron—We all know what it’s like to have guests arrive too early, so you might as well be cute in this apron for when that moment happens!
  9. Tapered Candles—Some people are not great at DIY, and these tapered candles from Etsy will solve that problem. They come in a few colors!
